A Prayer To Overcome Temptation

God has called us to be in the world, not of it, but we’d all be lying if we said that was an easy task. Sin is constantly pulling at us, mocking us, tempting us to forget everything that we know about God. And, temptations can come in a variety of ways. These days as a stay-at-home mom I find myself being tempted to complain or fall into self-loathing, comparing myself to other moms. On this side of heaven, temptation will always be a part of the human experience. And, the only way to combat it is to search the scriptures and pray God’s word. If you find yourself struggling with the temptations of life pray this prayer with me: PRAYER God, I am facing temptation right now. Please make clear the way of escape that you have provided for me so that I will be equipped to overcome it. Lord, this temptation is trying to overtake me but I know that you are faithful so you will never allow me to be tempted beyond …

A Prayer For Discipline

Maintaining discipline has never come easy to me. Timeliness and schedules are like a thorn in my side! I’ve always considered myself a free spirit, and these things feel more like a burden than something that is beneficial to me. But as I’ve matured, I’ve grown to see how much living a disciplined life is so crucial to your success. And, especially after becoming a mother, I’ve realized more than ever how living an undisciplined life can negatively affect my family. My children need and thrive off of schedules and routines, so I knew I needed to make some major changes!  I still find myself falling short daily but my prayer is that I continue to seek God in His wisdom as he empowers me to live a more disciplined life. If you are like me and find yourself struggling with self-discipline pray this prayer with me so that God will help you in this area of your life: PRAYER Lord, your word tells me that for the moment all discipline seems painful rather than …

Life Giver Killer

As I sit by your bedside, I just can’t believe my eyes. please, don’t die. You’re beginning to flatline, your heartbeat is growing weak. Sweet, gentle, and kind. You’re innocence as strong as your spirit is meek. As you lay there with your arms stretched out, your legs crossed, I can’t help but feel a sense of loss. my soul is lost… Who did this to you? What kind of evil is this? Who would betray you with a smile and murder you with a kiss? Tears fill my eyes, I cannot comprehend this injustice. I WANT JUSTICE! Anger overtakes me, I demand to know the culprit as I sit in this pit of despair. This cannot be real, it just isn’t fair. … I grab your hand, I can hear a faint whisper as you try to speak. So, I lean in closer because your body is way too weak. I know you’re fading fast so I ask you one last time in desperation, Please! Just tell me, I need an explanation. Who did this? …

I Got Up, And I Lived

CHAPTER 1: Lost And Spiritually Broken CHAPTER 2: My Grace Is Sufficient For You CHAPTER 3: Surrender CHAPTER 4: I Lived CHAPTER 1: Lost And Spiritually Broken “I want to die.” That’s what I thought as I held the knife up to my wrist. Shaking profusely, in emotional agony, I begged God to let me take my own life. That’s right, I wanted to die. I was emotionally drained, spiritually broken, and completely lost in my life. I was at a place where no one or anything could help me but Jesus Christ himself. I’d be lying to you if I told you this was the first time I contemplated taking my own life. I previously daydreamed about the ways I could do it. Walk into traffic? No, because that could traumatize and ruin someone else’s life and I didn’t want to be the cause of another person’s pain. Take a bottle of pills I had in my medicine cabinet? No, because I Googled the ingredients and realized it wouldn’t even kill me. At best, …

How To Trust God Even When He Breaks Your Heart

CHAPTER 1: Just One Stipulation CHAPTER 2: From Joy To Fear CHAPTER 3: Holding On To Hope CHAPTER 4: Receiving Bad News CHAPTER 5: 3 Things God Taught Me During My Time Of Grief CHAPTER 6: Jesus Is Our Example CHAPTER 7: God Can Be Trusted Because He Always Honors His Word CHAPTER 1: Just One Stipulation God betrayed me.  That’s how I felt when I had my first miscarriage last year. It was the most painful experience that I’ve ever had and I knew that it would happen. See, sometimes I have this ability, a sort of “foreknowing” that things will happen before they happen. After the birth of my son in 2019, I knew in my heart that I would never meet my second child, and it created a lot of anxiety about having more children. The mere thought of miscarriage would cause me to break down so I decided that I never wanted to experience pregnancy ever again. But there was something in me that knew my mothering journey was not yet …
