#HeyEdie How do I know if I should hire a website designer?. Are you *really* ready to hire a website designer?

Here are 3️⃣Tips to know if you’re ready -

1️⃣Have you validated your business model?

You want to make sure that you are sure that your ideal customer actually *wants* what you are selling! The worst thing you could do is invest thousands of your hard earned money into a website, launch it, and then nothing. *crickets* 🙈You should be constantly selling and fine tuning your offer so that when you hire a website designer there is a clear goal and call to action for your visitors.

2️⃣Have you perfected your customer journey?

What is the exact process that you are going to take your ideal clients through from the first moment that they land on your website all the way through to becoming a paying client? You don’t want a beautiful website with a clunky backend process, it will just hurt your conversions in the long run!

3️⃣Do you have the 💰cash flow to support the upkeep of a custom website?

I suggest before hiring a website designer that you have built consistent $1k months in your business. That way you can comfortably support all of the backend/tech/maintenance that comes with a custom build.

#HeyEdie Why do custom websites cost so much? 🥴. Did you budget $500 for your website only to request a quote from a website designer and find out that it actually costs 10x that! Talk about sticker shock!

You may be confused, wondering why!

Well, with a custom website there are alot of moving parts, and a *good* website is action-driven, combining strategy with intentional design. (hate to tell you 🙈, but a pretty design doesn’t always = sales)

So, because of that, when you work with a professional website designer the costs may be more than you anticipated.

And, let’s be all the way 💯 - when you are on your journey to reaching 100k in your business, what you invest your money in and *how* you invest your money is super important.

Before you 🎯 that 100k mark, in my humble (professional) opinion, it’s not the time to throw 💰💰💰💰💰 of dollars into your website build.

You still need to solidify your business model, perfect your customer journey, and build up your income to support all the backend/tech that is needed in order to maintain a custom website over time.

So what should you do instead? DIY it. Do it yourself!

(I know, I felt that eye roll 🙄 you just gave me in my soulll lol🥴)

That 💡hit me, coming from a frustrated heart, I said it during a conversation I was having with my husband last night.

I was just venting to him about how trying to run a business and be a stay at home Mom was WAY harder than I had anticipated.

Raising our son is the honor of my life but I’d be lying if I said it was easy trying to do #allthethings, there are days where I’m near tears because I feel like I’ve dropped the ball in one area or another.

But I realized that, God has me in a position where I’m blessed to raise my son full time and build a business I can be proud of.

He has me in a position where I can be there for every little milestone, and take him to appointments with me (like in this photo, our Chiro’s office snapped this cute pic while I was getting adjusted in the back, which ironically ties into this post, lol)...or just spend time with him watching him grow.

It’s what I prayed for. It’s here, it’s happening. But just like with other things we pray for, what it “looks like” doesn’t always align with what we expected it to actually *be* like.

But, I think when moments like this happen, it’s the perfect time to walk in gratitude, and check our heart for any bitter roots.

And to also break free from the bondage of comparison. Being patient with the season you are in and where God has YOU.

One of the things I love is reading! It’s my favorite hobby. And I’m hoping that rubs off on my son 🤞🏾🤓 lol.

For #BHM I grabbed this book at @target and have been reading these stories to him throughout the month. I want him to know, even as a little black boy, NOTHING is impossible for him.

Now ya’ll, he’s only 17 months and so his attention span is only like 30 secs 😂 but it’s just about making a habit to continuously expose him to the many stories of Black excellence.

As Black History Month comes to an end, I want to know, how did you celebrate this month? Did you learn something new that you didn’t know before (some of the hero’s in this book I had never heard of!)

This year I decided to be intentional in my business & focus more on complete transformations than piece-meal solutions.
